No film won more than three Oscars in 2006. Best Actor went to Philip Seymour Hoffman for Capote, Best Actress to Reese Witherspoon for Walk the Line, Best Supporting Actor to George Clooney for Syriana, and Best Supporting Actress to Rachel Weisz for The Constant Gardener.
This was only the third time, since the Supporting Role awards were introduced in 1936, that the six major awards had all gone to different films. It's happened twice since – in 2013 and 2016; the Best Film awards in those years went to Argo and Spotlight respectively.
